About
Town of La Pointe campground on Madeline Island, reached by ferry from Bayfield, beside the long sand beach and lagoon of Big Bay. The town describes it as a 61-site campground: sites 34-55 on the northwest side have 20/30/50-amp electric and gravel pads (except non-electric 47A and 47B); sites 1-27, 33, 47A and 47B are non-electric drive-up sites; sites 28-32 are walk-in tent sites just south of the main parking area; and sites 56-61 are hike-in tent sites along the Lagoon Ridge Trail. Every site has a fire ring with grill top and a picnic table. Pay showers, Wi-Fi and water at the office and shower building. No dump station in the park; an RV dump is at the airport entrance on Big Bay Road ($5 donation). Leashed pets welcome. All roads are one-way. Online reservations recommended.
